Now that DBMail and Roundcube are working it’s time to get push notifications working with Z-Push
Now we have DBMail running we can configure Roundcube to connect to it using IMAP. We are hosting our Roundcube on an existing webserver and just setting up a new virtual host for it.
Our first setup is to get Postfix and DBMail working. Postfix will handle receiving our email then hand it off to DBMail using LMTP (Local Mail Transfer Protocol) to store it in a Mysql Database. In this instance we already have a database server that we are going to use to store email so we skip that step however there are plenty of walk through out there if you need help.
With the recent news about how deep the NSA spying actually goes we wanted to see if we could actually pull back from the cloud. We host our email with Gmail for Business and have setup numerous customers using it as well. We also have customers using Office 365 which suffer similar problems, issues over data security.
The domain is now completely functionally it is time to sign the zone so we can start using DNSSEC. Continue reading
